Even after much delay, Contractor of Belagavi Central Bus stand work, Harsh constructions pvt. Ltd-Nashik have been granted extra 2-years. Yes, you heard right ! The ₹32 crore high-tech Central bus stand (CBS) work that started at Belagavi in February 2017 which was supposed to be completed by November 2019 got delayed with various reasons.
During question hours in Assembly Session, Belagavi North MLA Anil Benake raised question asking ‘Why the construction of Central bus stand work has been delayed, So far any action has been taken against the contractor ? And What is the deadline to finish the same ?
On Behalf of Transport Minister, Sriramulu, Belagavi district incharge minister and Minister, Major and Medium Irrigation Department, Government of Karnataka, Govind Karjol Replying to a question in assembly, said ” Work order for the construction of Central Bus stand was given in February 2017, and work was supposed to be completed by November 2019 but due to Rain/Flood in 2019 and Lockdown COVID-19 pandemic in 2020-21 made it further delay”
“So in order to finish pending work, Contractor have been granted extra two more years and I assure that bus stand will be ready in a year of time” said Govind Karjol

MLA Anil Benake said ‘Lockdown was imposed in the state in April 2019 so before that work should have been completed but contractor has failed to complete even 50% of the work’. He requested minister to do spot inspection and take action to complete as early as possible.
