The State Cabinet has decided to hold the 10-day legislature session in the month of September at Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru instead of Suvarna Vidhana Soudha in Belagavi.
Earlier it was decided to hold Sessions in Belagavi Suvarna Vidhana Soudha every year, which the government has failed to hold since three years. In 2019, it was cancelled due to flood, in 2020-due to the first wave of COVID-19 pandemic and this time too with same Covid reason the government has decided to hold Sessions in Bengaluru itself.
Many leaders had recently urged government to hold Session in Belagavi – The former member of the Rajya Sabha and KLE Society Chairman Prabhakar Kore has demanded that the State government hold the monsoon session of the State legislature at the Suvarna Soudha in Belagavi he also demanded to hold session atleast 30 days a year.

Legislative Council Chairman Basavaraj Horatti had asked the government to hold the Monsoon Session of the State Legislature at Suvarna Vidhan Soudha in Belagavi and he had written a letter too.

Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president D K Shivakumar on Sunday dared the B S Yediyurappa-led BJP government to convene the legislature session at Suvarna Vidhana Soudha in Belagavi.
Leader of Opposition in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly Siddaramaiah too urged the government to convene the legislature session immediately in the Suvarna Vidhana Soudha of Belagavi to discuss a host of issues including COVID-19 management, financial situation, and corruption allegations.
