Effluent treatment plant at Belagavi KMF

Effluent treatment plant (ETP) of 200 KLD capacity at the premises of KMF ‘s Belagavi Cooperative Milk Producers Societies Union (BCMPSU) at Mahantesh Nagar was inaugurated in 2016 by Ramesh Jarkiholi.

This plant will treat effluents generated from the dairy processing unit following floor cleaning, equipment washing and tanker washing. The treated water will be used for gardening besides green belt development and fodder development purpose.

The ETP project established at a cost of Rs 55 lakh. Removes solids, organic matter and nutrients from waste water through physical, chemical biological processes.

Although around 1.30 lakh litre of waste is generated in the dairy, the capacity of ETP is 2 lakh litre
