As per the directions of DFS, MoF, GoI, Canara Bank being Lead Bank in Belagavi, organised Customer Outreach Programme on 26-10-2021 at KLE Centenary convention centre, Nehru Nagar Belagavi. All the public sector banks, private banks, RRB, NBFCs have participated in the programme.
The programme was inaugurated by Smt Mangala S Angadi Hon’ble MP, Sri Anil Benake Hon’ble MLA Belagavi North, Sri M G Hiremath Hon’ble DC Belagavi.

Sri Krishnappa N DGM Canara Bank informed that Banks are conducting outreach programme as per instructions of DFS, Govt of India. All types of loans are available in all Banks and requested customers should utilise the outreach programme. He thanked the District Administration for supporting the Banks. Canara Bank being lead bank and all banks are implementing all the schemes.

Sri M G Hiremath Hon’ble DC Belagavi has expressed the need for conducting the Customer Outreach Programme and informed all the participants to avail the benefits and services of the Banks. At times of Economic slow down, Bankers have been instructed by the Finance ministry to play a special role in pushing the Economy forward to meet the needs of customers across the country and to achieve this objective this programme has been conducted. Also explained about how Banks plays important role in Indian Economy and Chain of Flow of funds. He also highlighted about achievement of Target under PMEGP in the Fin Year 2020-21 and being in top 4 Districts in the Country.

Smt Managala S Angadi, Hon’ble MP Belagavi informed all the participants to avail the benefits and services of the Banks. During the pandemic all Banks have worked very well in servicing the customers. Belagavi District having good potential requires much more Credit dispensation and support of all Banks. Hon’ble appreciated the work of Banks and District Administration and Lead Bank for coordinating the works positively.

Sri Anil S Benake Hon’ble MLA Belagavi north has expressed that Banks have supported the customers very well. But still Belagavi District is having lot of potential and customers are approaching us for getting more loans. Banks should lend collateral free loans to all the eligible cases and should not insist on securities unnecessarily. He suggested the customers to utilise the loans effectively and should not divert the loans for other purposes. Banks have to support all the customers for their upliftment and customers should repay the loans correctly.
Banks have distributed the Sanctions to different customers. Canara Bank (80.75 Cr); State Bank of India (40 Cr), KVGB (62.80 Cr); Union Bank of India (73 Cr), Central bank of India (6.00 Cr) BDCC (47.19 Cr) IDBI (4.35 Cr)Bank of Maharashtra (2.36 cr) are some of the Banks financed during October 2021. All Banks together have sanctioned Rs335 Cr during this festive month.

Sri Shivanagouda Patil Joint Director Agriculture has informed that under ODOP Jaggery is identified for Belagavi District and Banks should support to extend the loans. Agriculture sector is expanding rapidly and farmers require finance from sowing to marketing their produce. LDM is supporting all departments for any queries with any Banks in the District. FPOs are becoming very strong and will be provide good financial growth to the farmers.

Sri Vinjamuri Rahul Lead District Manager informed that Belagavi District is having the highest potential and Banks can double up their business. All Banks in Belagavi District have worked very well and appreciated all the Branch Managers for their good work. Atmanirbhar Schemes, Government sponsored schemes, Stand up India, PMEGP etc will be encouraged by the Banks. Bealgavi District stood first in PMEGP in entire Karnataka State. 11352 APY were enrolled during the last two months which is highest in Karnataka State.
Awareness on Agricultural loans, MSME, MUDRA, Social Security Schemes, Atmanirbhar schemes, Retail loans are given by different Banks to the customers and also in the Stalls kept by each bank at the venue.
