The road from New Gandhi Nagar to Potdar International School have been roughened to lay fresh asphalt and additional lane works have started as part of widening of the congested Airport Road (SH-20 Raichur-Bachi State Highway).
The four-laning road work was taken up in the month of october at a cost of Rs. 21.82 crore under State Highway development project.
New Gandhi Nagar to Sambra road runs to 10 km and is one of the busiest roads in the city since many educational institutions, hotels and businesses are located in the stretch. Many business, houses are also under construction on both sides, making it one of the fast-developing areas in the locality.
Despite the fact that the road caters to heavy traffic throughout the day, the work is going on at snail’s pace. However contractor has been asked to complete the work in 18 months which means work to be completed by April 2024.
