1. If a consumer enroll for Gruha Jyothi scheme within July 25, he will be able to avail free electricity for the month of July, similarly if he enrol for Gruhajyothi scheme within August 25, you will be able to avail free electricity for the month of August, only if the monthly consumption is under 200 units as an average.
2. The meter reading cycle runs from 25th to 25th of every month.
3. Enroll under the scheme at the earliest to ensure you benefit fully from this.

What is Gruha Jyothi scheme ?
Gruha Jyoti is a flagship scheme of the Congress government in Karnataka which promises 200 units of free power to households. It will kick in from July 1 and will be reflected in the bills of power consumers from the month of August.

Steps 1 : Open above link.
Step 2 : Enter Correct Aadhaar Card Number and click on Get Details.
Step 3 : Enter all details like – Account ID (Refer ESCOM bill), ESCOM, automatically all details appears as per records.
Step 4 : Select Occupancy Type as Owner/Tenant/Family Member.
Step 5 : Enter Mobile Number to recieve updates.
Step 6 : Lastly Click Submit. You are done. You will get Application number. Print and keep it with you for future use.
Who is eligible?
The scheme is for residential households in Karnataka whose monthly electricity usage is less than the average monthly consumption for the financial year 2022-23 + 10 per cent and within the 200 units limit. Additionally the Karnataka govenment has stated that consumers with consumption of more than 200 units have to pay the bill in full.
