
The Belagavi city corporation has taken good step to help the public, women and students who come to Belagavi city from other towns for various purposes.
The city corporation has decided to build Public toilets in DC Compound, District Court premises and in Rani Chennamma Circle in order to avoid people urinating in open Spaces.
On Wednesday, District Commissioner MG Hiremath, City Corporation Commissioner, Jagadish KH, and Ashok Dudagunti jointly inspected the site to construct a public toilet at the DC Compound and district court premises.
Hundreds of people from rural areas come to the city for various reasons including works in the government offices, court and hospitals. However, due to the lack of public toilet facilities, people urinating in vacant spaces or plots. People have been appealing to the district Commissioner and City Corporation over this. Considering the request of Public, officers has taken action to build toilets.

In the Budget for the year 2020-21, the City Corporation has allocated Rs 3 to 4 lakhs for construction of separate toilets for Gents and Ladies. The City corporation has decided to handover the toilet management to a private company once the toilets are ready.
