With a view to improve ridership in Belagavi city, NWKRTC adopted CHALO app. Henceforth, people availing the services of NWKRTC in and around Belagavi city will get to know the arrival time of their city bus, track the vehicle and also locate stops closest to them from where they could board the bus.
The app ‘Chalo’ is developed by Zophop Technologies Private Limited in association with North Western Road Transport Corporation (NWKRTC).

According to Sources, Almost all City buses have been installed with GPS as a part of the Smart City Mission that aims to streamline traffic movement and passengers could track their movement and location on real time. With this app, passengers will no longer have to wait at the bus stop for a bus to their preferred destination, rather sit at the comfort of their houses or track a bus from any given location, find out its arrival time and reach the nearest bus stand as shown in the app accordingly.
The app, which is now on the Beta version for trial, will go live by October end and could be downloaded for free from the Google Play Store. Chalo is already operational in major cities across the country. and in Karnataka, already operational in Mangaluru. Belagavi will be first city in North karnataka to adopt this app based bus tracking service.
