
The Center for Excellence in Smart City Project Designs will be established by Visvesvaraya Technical University (VTU) from the academic year 2021–22. A Master’s course called ‘M-Plan – In Smart City Planning’ will be launched Chancellor Prof. Karisiddappa said.
A partnership with a technical organization and university is intended to provide multidisciplinary knowledge in VTU. The aim of the new education policy is to set a new target for education from 2020-23.
Research grants will be given to those who work on innovative technologies to encourage research and innovation among students. Up to ₹ 25 lakh will be given for a project. University has developed its own research code that says innovation will be funded.
This course is mandatory as Part of the BE Academic Curriculum for Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Content Knowledge . National innovation and startup rules have been implemented. An Innovation and Incubation Center has been established for this purpose. A comprehensive development plan has been devised to effectively respond to global challenges. He stated that the target is to become an innovation and research-focused University.
