Belagavi South Constituency MLA Abhay Patil has successfully obtained approval from the Centre for the implementation of a cable car project in Belagavi. This project aims to enhance the beauty of Belagavi and draw tourists from nearby states like Maharashtra, Goa .
During a meeting with Minister of Road Transport and Highways of India Nitin Gadkari in New Delhi on Monday (18 sept), Patil requested a Rs 60 crore budget to implement a cable car project – Atal Bihari Vajpayee Cable Car project connecting Yallur village in the Belagavi South constituency to Rajahansagad.
The Union Minister promptly responded by instructing officials to investigate and submit a report. Patil mentioned that the report is expected by December, following which the necessary funds will be released and work on the cable car project will commence in January.
Once implemented, this project will transform Yallur into a popular tourist destination and serve as a major attraction for tourists from Karnataka, Maharashtra and Goa. Patil expressed confidence that this initiative will significantly boost Belagavi’s economic growth.
