
Deputy Chief Minister and Transport Minister Shri Laxman Savadi said the Cabinet has given a nod for drinking water supply to Satti village of Athani Taluk and other eight villages in Belagavi district at a cost of Rs 45.39 crore.
Speaking after the Cabinet meeting today, he said the demand for a drinking water problem in nine villages, including the Satti village, had been pending from several days. We had appealed to the honorable chief minister about this. The project is now approved by the Cabinet today and that it met the demand of locals in the area. He thanked the honorable chief minister.
The Cabinet has given the green signal to implement this scheme from the following grants – Center’s Jala Jeevan Mission Rs.18.12 Crores, RIDF (NABARD) Rs.15.40 Crores and from State Government Rs.11.87 Crores.
To be Implemented under the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department’s multi-purpose drinking water project, the project is expected to be completed in a span of 15 months. This will enable the local people to avail drinking water from the Krishna River to the villages of Avarkoda, Naganur PK, Dodwad, Nandeswar, Sawadi, Halyal, Hulagabal and Sankonatti villages, he said.
