The Department of Urban Development has given green signal for the proposal of Belagavi urban development authority to name three projects that are undertaken.
The new layout thats established in Buda Scheme No. 61 in Kanabargi village of Honaga region in Belagavi Taluk to be named after ex Chief minister of Karnataka, B S Yediyurappa. Along with kanabargi layout, The BUDA to name the new apartment complex and The International Hockey stadium in Kanabargi which is proposed.
Names – BUDA layout Scheme No. 61 to be named as “B S Yediyurappa layout” Who served as Cheif minister of Karnataka. Proposed New apartment complex in Kanabargi to be named after “Suresh Angadi”, who served as Minister of State Railways, GoI and MP of Belagavi. and Proposed Hockey international stadium at R.S No.623 and 624 in Kanabargi village to be named after “Bandu Patil”, who represented the Indian Hockey team, which won Silver medal & Gold medal during 1960 & 1964 Olympics.
Belagavi Urban development authorities decided to keep above mentioned Dignitaries names in a meeting held on the November 27, 2020. and Authorities had written letter to the Urban Development Department, Government of Karnataka on 27th April 2021 to approve the same.

Against this backdrop, the Department of Urban Development has approved the proposal to to name the three projects.
