The Belagavi Urban Development Authority (BUDA) Budget for 2022-23 presented on Thursday.
The budget, presented by BUDA Commissioner Preetam Nasalapure, envisages a revenue of ₹492 crore against an expenditure of ₹490.50 crore leaving it with a surplus of Rs 1.50 crore. The BUDA revenue is from layout plan approval, property tax and sale of sites besides cess.
₹ 100 crore has been allocated for special projects and ₹ 150 crore has been earmarked for the implementation of the Scheme No. 61 in Kanabargi. With this, a total of ₹ 250 crore has been allocated for new projects.
The budget has earmarked funds for development within the BUDA limits. Upgradation of roads in Ramteerth Nagar, Development of public park at Vinayak society in Shahu Nagar, Completion of Kannada Bhavan at Nehru Nagar, etc were decided.

Also, Various issues were discussed and approved, including plots allocation in Bastawad, Alaravad, Vadgaon, Benkanahalli, Madhavapura areas.

The Belagavi Urban Development Authorities (BUDA) has decided to reduce the green belt zone from 1 km to half a km. A 1km green belt surrounding the main structure of Suvarna Vidhana Soudha was announced by then Chief minister BS Yediyurappa during the construction of Suvarna Vidhana Soudha (SVS) in Belagavi in 2010, banning all construction activities in the area.
BUDA President Sanjay Belgaonkar, MLA Abhay Patil, MLA Anil Benake and other officers were present.
