
As per the suggestion of Central Zoo Authority’s guidelines, the tiger will be shifted to Belagavi Zoo next week said L R Mahadevaswamy, The State Zoo Authority President.
Talking to the reporters, after a visit to the Rani Channamma Zoo in Bhuthavamanahatti in Belagavi on Wednesday, he said three lions have already been sent to the zoo. They are quarantined for 21 days and will soon be open to public visit.
He said, Local MLA’s & MP’s should bring more funds for the zoo Development. In addition, the zoo’s overall development will be enhanced by the adoption of animals by the animal lovers in and around Belagavi.
He said that we authorities will organise state-level meeting next week and we will request the government to release grants to address the shortage of water in Bhuttaramanatti zoo.

We have planned to provide Free entry for Government schools, private schools to have 20% percentage discount. Our intention is to make them learn about animal diversity. Those who adopt animals by paying 25,000 and more will be given 10 times free access to 9 zoos in Karnataka. In addition, the State Zoo Authority is keen on the developing the Belagavi zoo and called for donors to come forward.
