So far Rs 761.21 crore has been spent on 103 works of the Smart City project in the Belagavi City, Dr. Praveen Bagewadi said in a release.
The Belagavi Smart City project was launched in 2016 and a grant of Rs 930 crore has been earmarked for this project under the Smart City Mission. Rs. 854 crore has been released for this project so far. Out of which Rs 761.21 crore has been spent. A total of 103 works have been taken up under the Belagavi Smart City project, he said.
As of now, 67 works worth Rs 384.62 crore have been completed. The 36 works worth Rs 545.38 crore are in progress.
Important works like development of Physiotherapy Center for disabled children in Mahatma Phule Park, Ravindra Kaushik e-Library, Kid Zone, development of 11 concept based parks, Kanabargi Lake Rejuvenation, development of Integrated Command and Control Center, Hospitals and Smart Roads have been developed under the Smart City Project.

He informed that 211.06 crore rupees 6 different works have been taken up under public private partnership and all are in progress stage. Belagavi Smart City has topped the Smart Solutions Challenge 2022, a comprehensive urban competition organized by the United Nations and the National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA).
Belagavi Smart City has won 3 awards in various categories in the Smart Urban Nation 2022 competition held in Mumbai, Dr. Praveen Bagewadi informed.
