The Chief Secretary of the State Public Works Department (NHAI) has informed the Chairman of the National Highway Authority (NHAI), to take priority over the four lane Ring Road project to be constructed from Zadshapur village on NH-4A to Bennalli village on NH-4.
In a letter to the NHAI regional official, he said, The Regional Officer, NHAI, Bengaluru, has brought to the notice of Karnataka Government that NHAI is taking up the Belagavi Ring Road project on top priority and currently DPR is in advanced stage of finalization. The estimated Land Acquisition cost for the project is approximately Rs.280 crores for the construction of 4 Laning of Belagavi Ring Road having 69.25 Km. length. He has requested the State Government to accord consent for bearing 50% of Land Acquisition cost for further appraisal and approval of the project.
In this regard, after examination of the proposal, the State Government, hereby accords in-principal approval to bear 50% of land acquisition cost (i.e. Rs.140 crores) for the construction of Belagavi Ring in the State of Karnataka. Therefore, NHAI is requested to take up the construction of Ring road for Belagavi, Karnataka.
