Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Tuesday met Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi to once again discuss regarding transferring land to state government for the purpose of development.
An area of 732.24 acres in Tukamatti village of Belagavi district belonging to the state government is under the custody of the Defense Authority due to which no development work is being taken at this area. He requested the Union Defense Minister to give appropriate direction to the defense authorities to hand over this land to the District authorities of Belagavi for the development purpose.
Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Manjunath Prasad, Additional Chief Secretary, Water Resources and Urban Development Department Rakesh Singh were present on this occasion.
In order to decentralise the information technology sector, The state government’s plan to set up an Information Technology park (IT Park) on 732.24 acres of land which is currently under the control of defence ministry.
Belagavi South Mla Abhay Patil has envisaged the plan to set up an IT-Park in this area which is very well suitable for establishing IT companies and Semi conductor industry within City limits.
