
Belagavi International kite festival that starts on a week ahead of Makar Sankranti stands cancelled this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic situation.

This year international kite festival have been cancelled due to Covid situation says organizer. The International Kite Festival for the past continued Ten years has brought global recognition to the city of Belagavi.
Around 35 to 40 international players from different countries participates in international kite festival every year. Since the government has discontinued flights to some countries and international players come to India to participate in the kite festival, there will be chance of spreading of Corona so this step have been taken. Along with Belagavi, International Kite Festival in Goa and Hubballi also being cancelled, Said Ashok Nayak, coordinator of the International Kite Festival Committee.
