Over 19,000 people have been shifted to safer places on Friday as rains battered the region and rivers were in spate said District Collector MG Hiremath.
Currently 89 relief centers have been set up across the Belagavi district providing temporary shelter to 8795 people.
Two deaths were reported in the district during rain. The traffic will be disrupted on 37 roads, said District Collector MG Hiremath.
Belagavi DC said that, Today currently the amount of rainfall is a bit low and as of now there are no problems. In all the taluks, the nodal authorities are constantly monitoring the flood situation and rainfall. People don’t need to worry; If there are any problems, local authorities should be informed immediately.

The villagers and farmers of the river bank have been requested to take caution as the river is over flowing.
