Elected representatives from Belagavi district put up a united front in presenting their case to chief minister B S Yediyurappa when he chaired a district-level meet to review the covid management and development works in the district, here on Friday.
Deputy Chief Minister and Minister in charge of Belagavi District Govind Karajol has instructed to make use of ventilators in taluk hospitals.
Laxman Sawadi, Deputy Chief Minister and Transport Minister, said that buses with oxygen bed facilities have been mobilized at a cost of Rs 8 lakhs to deal with upcoming third Covid wave. Mlas must think on deploying Such buses in talukas under the Local Area Development Act of MLAs and MPs to facilitate emergency treatment.
Yamakanamardi congress MLA Satish Jarakiholi urged the chief minister to increase the Covid test in the district and make the Covid negative certificate mandatory for tourists.

Mahantesh Kavatagimath, Chief Whip of the Government of the Parliament, requested to establish Covid laboratory and the District Hospital at Chikkodi.

Rajya Sabha member Iranna Kadadi urged the district to start work of All 7 oxygen units as soon as possible.
Mangala Angadi, MP, requested that the newly appointed doctor’s in the district be assigned to duty immediately.
Mla Mahesh Kumathalli and Raibag MLA Duryodhana Aihole said all health facilities should be provided in their constituency too.

Addressing the gathering, MLA Anjali Nimbalkar insisted that relief package for the physically disabled should be released. Responding, the chief minister assured that proper action would be taken to address this.
Former Rajya Sabha member Dr Prabhakar Kore said the vaccine was not delivered even after eight days of paying the money for the purchasing. The vaccine supply has been delayed due to permission from Delhi to buy the vaccine. He demanded that the government take steps to rectify this.
Mla Abhay Patil insists on Ayushman-Bharat Scheme : MLA Abhay Patil has demanded action should be taken against private hospitals that refuse to treat Covid patients under the scheme. He also said the vaccine is not being supplied adequately for the district.
MLA Anil Benake pointed out that more than fifty ventilators are not being used. Urged to utilise the ventilators.
MLA Ganesh Hukkeri said, some of the people who worked as Frontline Warriors were not given any package. The Warriors should be considered in upcoming packages.
