Even as the city witnesses surge in Covid-19 cases, the Belagavi City Corporation (BCC) has appointed nodal officers for all the 58 wards, to fight pandemic effectively.

Belagavi reported less than 1,000 fresh cases of Covid-19 on Thursday with the district reporting 948 positive cases and zero deaths. While the district has 16,549 active cases, majority are in Belagavi city.

Nodal officers should provide necessary infrastructure in PHCs for RT-PCR sample collection and vaccination. They must provide pandals, chairs and drinking water for people who visit PHCs. There should be separate areas for vaccination and RT-PCR sample collection in all the PHCs.
