Transport Minister Laxman Savadi, who is also the DCM of Karantaka, assured on Friday that the Belagavi Central Bus Station will be inaugurated only after naming it with great freedom fighter Kittur Rani Channamma.
After inaugurating the employees rest room at the NWKRTC’s 3rd depot in Belagavi, Minister assured Kannada Organizations who had come to meet.
The organisations urged that, There is a long pending demand to name Central bus stand as Kittur Rani Chennamma bus terminus. And this should be done during your Tenure.
Later Speaking to journalists, the minister said, “We are building district level seperate rest rooms for Ladies and Gents in Bus depots. We are also implementing clean drinking water systems. For this we are installing the RO components.

The central bus stand work delayed due to the Covid-19 situation. The contractors said they would finish work by April 2021. We have also been given notice. There is no problem or delay in realising funds for the same. If delayed again, a fine will be imposed. Within 20th of this month (Jan), the construction company will be called and addressed. Similarly, the city bus stand will also be completed soon.
