Nearly Four years after the foundation stone was laid for the central bus terminus (CBT) in Belagavi, finally the work has reached final stage, Work will be completed in next three months as per officials.
Though the deadline to finish work of CBT has long expired in January 2018. The slow pace of the work for the high-tech building already created lot of inconvenience to the commuters.
According to sources, 80% of work already completed, But works like Concreting surface, installing windows, Washroom fittings, Painting, Marking, Seating arrangements, Cleaning, Parking are yet to be done.

Since Belagavi is located on the border between Karnataka and Maharashtra, over 2,000 buses from different places enter the terminus daily. Hundreds of buses travel to Hubballi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Pune, Mumbai, Goa, Chennai, Bagalkot, Mysuru, Vijayapura, Bidar and Davanagere. The temporary place created for parking of buses at the bus terminus is also falling short. According to sources, over 60,000 people use this terminus to go to different destinations every day.
Central bus terminus work has reached final stage and will be completed within next 3 months of time. Due to continuous movement of buses and passengers causing delay in taking up works faster. However We have suggested Contractor to expedite work.Vinod Nayak,

If everything goes as per plan, By New year January 2021, Belagavi passengers will be able to see the all new high tech Central bus terminus for which they are waiting for since four years.
