Belagavi central bus stand should be ready by October : Benake

Belagavi North Constituency MLA Anil Benake inspected Central Bus stand work here on Monday along with Belagavi City Corporation commissioner Redresh Gali, Cantonment Officials and KSRTC Officers.

In the wake of the repeated complaints from the public, Belagavi North MLA Anil Benake inspected Central Bus stand work and warned contractor to finish the work within next 6 months.

After inspecting the bus stand work and holding discussions with officials, MLA spoke to media persons and said, “The construction of this bus stand got delayed due to several reasons including insufficient funds release, COVID19 pandemic, Lockdown, Rain etc. Now on work will be speeded-up and have directed the contractor to finish the work within next 6 months”

“The Vendors, Autorickshaw stands around the bus stand creating chaos. Have asked Belgaum Cantonment Board authorities to remove all Autorickshaws stands and vendors around Central bus stand in order to avoid mess.”

He advised the contractor to make sure, this time I should not see any image on social Media, print media showing potholes filled with muddy water. Passengers are suffering from sun and rain, the authorities have to make necessary arrangements like providing temporary shelters for the passengers.

“Private autorickshaws won’t be allowed around the bus stand. There will be a prepaid autorickshaw service on either side of the bus station. Officials have been given strict instructions to clear existing autorickshaw stands within 2-3 days. Only prepaid Autorickshaw system will be allowed.” He said.

Project : The ₹32 crore high-tech Central bus stand work that started at Belagavi in January 2017.

The work was supposed to be completed by November 2019.

Financial Resource :50% of RWA, Headquarters Hubli, & 50% Urban Land Transport Directorate, Bangalore.

Area of Bus Station : 9 acres 7 guntas (399633.00 sq.ft.)
