The third busiest airport of Karnataka – Belagavi Airport witnesses passenger traffic growth of 33 per cent with the addition of 81,950 passengers in 2021 compared to 2020.
Aircrafts Movement : The total flight movements at the airport in 2021 also seen growth of 25 per cent with the addition of 1442 movements last year compared to 2020.
Cargo : In 2021, the airport handled an all-time high of 187.26 metric tonnes (MT) of cargo, recording a significant growth of 59.09 per cent against the 117.7 MT in 2020.
As per airport officials, Permission has been granted to Spicejet, IndiGo to carry cargo in their passenger flights. Necessary facilities have been provided for this additional service. Businessmen from Belagavi could transport their products, Documents to other cities and similarly, they could also get products from other cities to Belagavi.

The over-all growth of Belagavi airport is in the upper trend. Belagavi airport is now connected to 15 Indian cities including Non-stop & One-stop flights to Bengaluru, Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Pune, Nashik, Surat, Indore, Kishangarh, Jodhpur, Mysuru Kadapa, Kalaburagi and Tirupati from 5-airlines Spicejet, IndiGo, StarAir, Alliance Air and Trujet.

Currently Trujet has suspended it’s service to all four routes Belagavi-Hyderabad, Belagavi-Mysuru, Belagavi-Kadapa and Belagavi-Tirupati due to unavailability of aircrafts. There is hope that airline will resume it’s service in the summer schedule.
