The airlines’ capacity for April 2021 was lower by 7.8 per cent compared to March 2021 (686 departures & Arrivals, against 744 departures & Arrivals), indicating the declining demand scenario stemming from averseness of consumers to travel due to the rise in Covid-19 infections.
Flight cancellations have been reported since the second wave of Covid-19 infections gripped Karnataka and other parts of India. Amid widespread apprehensions over travelling, passenger footfalls have drastically reduced at city airport, according to sources.
Popular Airline’s such as IndiGo, Spicejet, StarAir, Alliance Air and TruJet operated flights to Bengaluru, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Pune, Mysuru, Ahmedabad, Indore, Surat, Nashik, Jodhpur, Tirupati and Kadapa from Belagavi airport during April 2021.
