Shri. Baswaraj Nalegave, IRS has assumed the charge of Commissioner of Central Tax (GST), Central Excise Belagavi Commissionerate and Audit Commissionerate on 2nd of August 2021. He belongs to 1994 Batch of Indian Revenue Service. He has varied experience of having served in Customs. Central Excise, Central GST wings of Revenue Department at various places like Chennai, Mumbai, Mysore and Bangalore in different capacities.
The jurisdiction of this Belagavi CGST Commissionerate extends over 11 north districts of Karnataka State viz… Belgaum, Dharwad, Gadag, Bijapur, Bagalkot, Koppal, Raichur, Yadgir, Bidar, Gulbarga, and Bellary. The total GST revenue collected by this formation for the year 2020-21 was Rs. 1317.73 Crores and the revenue collected till date in this financial year is Rs. 2836.89 Crores. The formation is responsible for administration of legacy cases of Central Excise and Service tax in its jurisdiction.
