Coming home to India for short stint isn’t unusual, it is a lot special, the moment I landed and my friend at Belagavi Airport who had come to pick me up, asks me “can you smell the mud”. I stood out for a while to feel the rain, breath the greenery and my affirmation to him, “Yes a lot, I can feel rain, see the lush green and I am smelling the mud”, as such coming home to Belagavi is always a Wow movement.
My heck of scheduled but no less commitment for friends and time ensured to make a visit to Belagavi Railway station and catch the glimpse of happening of development around the zeal was high to assesses and see things falling in place as per our suggestion to Late Hon MP Suresh Angadi Sir, My friends Ashwin and Shailesh rushed to spot on mere phone call, and we started with the West end side of station from old goods shed road, We were greeted by twin EMD_WDG goods train with Honk Blow in a movement to depart towards Londa

A little ahead we walked on crossing the track towards platform 1 and the running room on our left where Loco pilots rest for onward duty found another twin EMD_WDG dual cab Locos resting on dead end small loop line next to platform 1 (Loco pilots on rest and so were the locos calm & snoozed).

A little ahead we walked to see station master Sir, we were well received and also given a lot of info about deadlines and ongoing works, the pit lines work is almost 80% complete along with coaching depot physical infra as well, the track laying will be concluded as the yard remodelling is in progress.
