Belagavi Airport has come up with a new idea to promote local artist’s of all medium by exhibiting their works by placing them in a metallic frames under the canopy of Belagavi Airport.
Kittur Karnataka districts, including Belagavi district are known for their culture and heritage. The director of the Belagavi airport has come up with a great idea to provide platform of unsung heros of Belagavi.
According to the plan, a total of 15 frames are scheduled to be placed under the canopy of Belagavi Airport. It is being obtained from donors. Three frames have already been donated by ‘Positron Engineering Corporation’, Machhe, Belagavi. Also if anyone interested can donate frames. Names of the doners will be displayed on the frames.
Paintings of the Artists will be displayed for 15-20 days. Up to 90 Paintings/Artworks can be displayed simultaneously in 15 fames. This enables artists to deliver their Paints/art to the people. Also they get a good platform. All the Paintings/Artworks displayed at the airport are only for free display.
“There are many artists of different mediums in Belagavi district. It will be a good platform for them. The experiment was undertaken to promote the Art & Culture of this region” said Rajesh Kumar Maurya, Airport Director, Belagavi Airport.
This initiative has received tremendous response and appreciation from many parts of the Country. Belagavi airport has become a model to other airports to promote local arts and culture. Smt. Usha Padhee, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation on friday appreciated Belagavi Airport director, RajeshKumar Maurya for the same through a tweet.
