Government of Karnataka envisages development and maintenance of tourist amenities at heritage sites in the state and making them tourist friendly, to enhance tourism potential and cultural importance in a planned and phased manner.
Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, in the 2022-23 Budget, announced the ‘Adopt a Monument’ scheme for protection and development of archaeological buildings.
The Project envisages involvement of Private/Public Companies / Organizations and Individuals to adopt Monuments, Natural Heritage Sites and other Tourist Sites.
State Archaeological Department has identified 30 monuments/Heritage sites for adoption in which 4 sites are choosen from Belagavi.

The monuments that need conservation plus basic and advanced amenities includes: Parasagada Fort Savadatti, Belagavi; Bhuthanatha temple, Killatorgal, Belagavi
The monuments requiring basic and advanced amenities includes: Yalluru Fort, Yalluru, Belagavi ; Kittur Rani Channamma Palace, Fort and surroundings, Kittur, Belagavi.

The project primarily focuses on providing basic amenities that include cleanliness, public conveniences, safe drinking water, ease of access for tourists, signages, illumination, Wi-fi etc.
