District In-charge minister, Govind Karjol chaired the progress review meeting at DC office hall on Tuesday on the issue of land acquisition related to the development works in Belagavi district.
An estimated 100 acres land need to be acquired to upgrade Belagavi Airport to international standard. Action will be taken by the government to provide this land. Govind Karajol instructed that officials to prepare a proposal in this regard.
He directed the Deputy Divisional Officers that, in order to ease the land acquisition process for the airport upgradation in the future, block and protect the required land around the Airport.
Minister Govind Karjol also instructed officials to initiate the necessary action for the acquisition of 600 acres of land required for the construction of Belagavi-Dharwad new railway line and start work immediately. In this regard, K.I.A.D.B. should publish land acquisition notification as early as possible, he said.
Minister also discussed regarding Bagalkot-Kudachi new railway line, National highway projects and preparation of detailed project report (DPR) for Bellary Nala project.
Rajya Sabha Member Iranna Kadadi, Member of Parliament Mangala Angadi, MLA Mr. Anil Benake, Deputy Commissioner Collector Nitish Patil, Zilla Panchayat CEO Darshan H V and officials from various departments were present in the meeting.
