For speedy delivery of Covid Vaccine, Department of health decided to ship Vaccine by air
Officials here thought the vaccine could be transported by road. They had prepared for the same. However, the vaccine to arrive on a special flight from Delhi to the Belagavi airport as per Information received by Senior Officer.
Arrangements have been made to procure the vaccine at Belagavi Airport and from there to vaccine depot. The staff have been trained and the vaccine van have been arranged. ‘Vaccination can occur at any time’ A senior official of the department told to Prajavani.
Vaccine to 8 Districts : The vaccine will be distributed to the districts of Vijayapura, Bagalkot, Koppal, Gadag, Uttar Kannada, Haveri and Dharwad from Belagavi. For this purpose, it is advised to keep a vaccine van Ready of all 8 districts and to collect vaccine directly from the Belagavi airport. Officials have not yet been informed as to how many doses will be allocated to the each district.
Direction to mobilize :
It is directed setup the system required for maintaining the temperature for 5–6 hours in vaccine van.
The Eight districts are expected to deliver 2.50 lakh to 4 lakh doses of the vaccine. The Belagavi Vaccine Depot is recognized as a state-of-the-art vaccine center and can store 13.50 lakh Doses . Another cooler and freezer of capacity 15 lakhs has been sanctioned by the central government and is expected to set up soon.
