Deputy chief minister and District Incharge minister Govind Karajol said the black fungus has been confirmed in 43 people in Belagavi district and two have died so far.
Speaking to reporters on Sunday in the city hall, he said that 43 out of a total of 70 infections have been diagnosed with black fungus. People should not be negligent about the infection, he said.
He said that the question of extending the lockdown after June 7 may not arise if only the public cooperates and there is a decline in Covid-19 cases.
On Sunday, 5 deaths and 1171 new positive cases reported in Belagavi district. 1734 people discharged. Total Active Positive cases have reduced to 16455 in the district
