
The 24/7 Drinking Water Project was granted to Belagavi several years ago but had been canceled for various reasons. Belagavi South MLA Abhay Patil has been successful in getting the plan approved by the Cabinet Meeting.
This is a project worth Rs 571.35 crore, with a total cost of Rs 804.13 crore including 13 years of operation and maintenance. MLA Abhay Patil told to start the survey work from Monday (17 August) to the water board, City Corporation and smart city officials and the city’s contractor in the meeting
The survey of the Belagavi City 24×7 Water Project takes six months. The 900-meter pipeline and pumping tanks will be built to provide water connectivity to 20,000 households in a year and 24/7 water supply to more than 85,000 homes in the city of Belagavi in next 4 four years, MLA Abhay Patil said.

L&T company has won the contract for Design, Build, Operate, Maintain and Transfer of water supply systems in Belagavi. The projects are largely funded by the World Bank.

“This is the largest and most ambitious project of the Belagavi City. The Union Minister of State for Home Amit Shah has requested the government to inaugurate the project through video conferencing.
